Newbie to the Sport Empty
PostSubject: Newbie to the Sport   Newbie to the Sport EmptyThu May 16, 2013 8:20 am

Hey I'm a 28 yr old dude in Calgary looking to get into the sport. Been whitewater kayaking for a while and want to try something different.

The usual questions: best way to get in to the sport, if anyone is willing to take a newbie out, any used gear, how to get in touch with the community etc I also work shifts so it would be awesome to get in touch with people who have the same schedule ie are able get out during the day on weekdays.

Cheers! Look forward to meeting some of ya

Hi Bosco,

As the wind around could be "challenging", the safest way is to take lessons from one of the certified instructors around. This way, you can crash his gear and know want you need before investing lots of money in your own quiver.

Flying a powerfull traction kite in Southern Alberta could be seen as life defying sport Wink
